Music is a passion in our household. My wife and I met in music school at the University of British Columbia; our home is full of instruments (trombones, recorders, medieval harp, euphonium, Steinway piano, harpsichord), and of course as well many music scores, books, and recordings.
We listen to music of many types and in most rooms of our house. As professionally trained musicians with graduate degrees, our challenge has been to find audio equipment that truly allows us to enjoy music, rather than highlighting some vague audiophile trait that has no relationship to the instruments or voices that we hear every day.
And so for us, audio gear is a means to incorporate recorded music into our daily lives, not a goal in and of itself. And, as an extension of our buy local food philosophy, we try to purchase products directly from the designer/owner if possible.
Let's get started…
